David Spicer
- 1906. New brick-built fire station opened in Grove Road next to the library. On Wednesday 7th February 1943, the German Luftwaffe attached Eastbourne and the fire station received a direct hit killing 6 members of the National Fire Service, 5 Firemen and One Firewomen.
